Frequently Asked Questions

Are the puppies healthy?

Yes, we strive to ensure the health of all our puppies.  Our adult dogs see their vet regularly, and are kept on heartworm & flea preventative. All our adults are genetically tested for DM, vWD, EIC, and PRA-rcd3, to ensure all puppies will be born risk free. Our pups are dewormed every 2 weeks, are examined by our vet, and receive their 1st round of vaccines.   Additionally we provide a  1 year health guarantee for genetic and hereditary conditions.

Do you ship?

No, in order to protect ourselves and our puppies, we do not ship, under any circumstances. We require all potential families to meet with us in person.

Are their tails docked or natural bobtail?

While a few Pembroke Corgis have a natural occuring bobtail, the majority have their tails docked. Our puppies have their tails docked no later then 3 days old.

Purchasing

When you purchase from La Vernia Corgis,  you are buying from a legitimate breeder who prioritizes the health and wellbeing of all our Corgis.

At La Vernia Corgis, we genetically test our adults prior to breeding, to ensure we are producing healthy litters.  Our adult dogs are loved and cared for, they  regularly see their vet and are kept up to date on all their vaccines.

When you go with the cheapest option you open yourself up to a lot of risks;  including buying an unhealthy puppy, or buying from a puppy mill.

Most dogs in puppy mills are kept in poor living conditions, and are in poor health. Please do your research and  ensure that you are working with  a responsible breeder!

If you have a "bad feeling" about your breeder, you should follow your intuition and go with a different breeder!
